| Event: Farming for... Profit? June 22-23, 2008 Heritage Inn Moose Jaw, SK The KIS Project has been sponsoring "Farming for…Profit?" for the past two years. This year marked the annual event's 15th year. The theme for this year was "Has the Goose Finally Laid the Golden Egg?" Conference organizer, Andy Schmitz (University of Florida) is an Associate Professor with the Dept of Bioresource, Policy, Business and Economics. This year's conference had an exceptional line up of speakers speaking on a wide range of topics: agriculture policy, input costs, beef sector, COOL regulations, grain transportation, supply management, the U.S. Farm Bill and the global food crisis. KIS Principal Investigator Murray Fulton was a member of the transportation panel. The Illative Blog features an entry summarizing some of the interesting view points that were shared at this year's conference.
